About Our Team
The St. Matthew’s Radioactive Bulldogs are a First Lego League Challenge team founded in 2019 by two St. Matthew’s parents, Aderiano & Marcia Silva.
First Lego League Challenge is a world wide STEM program and friendly competition where teams of students ages 9-16 engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering—building and programming a LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime robot that navigates the missions of a robot game. They also participate in a research project to identify and solve a relevant real-world problem.
Even though our team is small, we have improved every year, making the Wisconsin State competition the last 4 years in a row, consistently ranking in the top 20 teams (out of 300-400) each year!!
This years team consists of Bella, Benedict, Hadasa, Saoirse, Kyle, Chris, and Logan. Our team is always striving to be creative, informative, and impactful. Most of all, our team strives to have fun! We always try to do our best in the seasons, but we also make sure that we create memories that will last a lifetime.
Throughout the years, our team has seen members come and leave, but the personal growth left on our team is evident. Not only are we experiencing amazing opportunities through Lego League, but we are also getting younger kids involved. Every competition we participate in is an encouragement for the next generation!
